After the great success of the last editions, which have attracted thousands of competitors from all’over Italy, Europe and the rest of the world, the Lams Matera Award – International Festival/Contest for young musicians (entitled “Rosa Ponselle” until 2018) reaches its twenty-second edition and is part of the many artistic and cultural initiatives of the LAMS, with the patronage of the Ministry for Culture, the Basilicata Region, the Municipality of Matera, the Province of Matera.

The LAMS MATERA Award will be held this year, at the choice of the participants, in two ways:

• A) live, in Matera from 27 to 29 April 2022;
• B) online, on the Lams Facebook page and on the YouTube channel from 27 to 29 April 2022.

The mission of the Award is to promote young talents offering them a unique occasion of comparison and growth and a concrete support to their careers with paid concerts, that will enrich their process of human and professional growth.

Although the pandemic and the resulting global crisis have dealt a severe blow to cultural and musical activities, we are increasingly convinced to give young people concrete signs of hope for the future.
